Volkswagen Jetta Now Comes with a Sporty Wagon Model

In a recent official press release of Volkswagen Group, the Wolfsburg-based automaker said that Volkswagen of America has already delivered about 50,332 individual units to customers in the United States starting from January up to March 2007.Volkswagen of America obtained 6 percent sales increase compared to the previous year.

Talking about the top selling Volkswagen model in the U.S., Volkswagen Group has recently presented the 2008 VW Jetta SportWagen at the 2007 New York International Auto Show that at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. According to Volkswagen the 2008 VW Jetta SportWagen "mixes practicality with European style and balances both elegance and sportiness. Its exceptional ride and handling and segment-leading safety features, along with its design are perfect for those with an active lifestyle."

The sales was dominated by the Volkswagen Jetta compact car, which has sold 21,564 units, making it as the top selling model from the Wolfsburg-based car maker.
First is the 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine capable of pumping out a maximum of 170 hp. This engine is an upgraded version of the same engine found on other VW Jetta models. Other available engine types include the 2.0T 4-cylinder engine with 200 hp, and the 2.0L clean diesel engine.In addition, the cargo area can be extended up to 66.9 cubic feet when the rear seat has been folded down. Moreover, Volkswagen is also offering an optional fold-flat front passenger seat with "V-Tex" leatherette seating that provides additional cargo room. Other features of the 2008 VW Jetta SportWagen include eight-way adjustable front seats with lumbar support adjustments, a height and telescoping steering wheel, anti-theft vehicle alarm, cruise control, CD player, traction control, and four-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS).
