BMW Head Light and Tail Light Options

Some BMW headlight models will contain separate high and low beam bulbs, while others will make use of a single bulb with dual filaments. To add to the accessory nature of the BMW and its unending strive for individuality for its owners, The BMW head light housing also comes with several different options. Selecting your options of black or chrome housing, and clear or halo headlights will add your own personal touch to the night time style impact of your BMW. Models later than 2003 also have the option of installing the Eagle Eye tail lights which have a sleeker style and are also available in both clear red and smoked lens options. As an additional upgrade in taillight styling, many drivers choose the LED lamping rather than the traditional halogen lamps. LEDs use less energy and are guaranteed for the life of the vehicle, although many drivers complain of a strobe light effect when viewing during clear night time conditions. You may also want to use a pair of surgical gloves, to handle dirty parts and avoid contamination of halogen bulbs with skin oils, and a flashlight, in case small components get dropped under the hood. Removal of the existing headlight assemblies and mounting bracket should be done according to instructions found in your owners manual, and instructions for replacement of new housing components will be shown, accompanied by diagrams, on headlight packaging. BMW Angel Eye Halo Headlights will improve the look of your vehicle and improve how you see while in your vehicle, with an extended beam length which dramatically improves on night time road vision on a low profile vehicle. As an accessory, the halo ring of the BMW lights are available in different colors.

The Iconic 2006 BMW 330i and Partstrain's Commitment to Product Excellence

BMW's double-pivot independent front suspension has been adapted for the 3 Series, with a pair of lower arms that complement the car's upgraded MacPherson struts. An all-new five-link rear suspension, featuring many lightweight aluminum pieces, is combined with an all-new, more rigid chassis. Oversized ventilated discs in all four corners and an aluminum steering rack ensure precise handling and braking. The structural stiffness of the car is so high, according to Dr. Burkhard Göschl, member of the Board, that side-impact for the rear passengers would not add any extra safety, so they are not available. Furthermore, the 3-Series has two-stage adaptive brakelights that increase the intensity of during hard braking or whenever ABS is activated. The 3-Series is not only an icon; it is the benchmark in its very competitive class. For the original and the best entry-level luxury sports sedan on the market, nothing is befitting than the excellently crafted BMW Replacement Parts at Partstrain. The BMW 3 Series represents 40% of BMW's vehicle output. It is, as one BMW executive said, "the core product for the brand." Not only is it important to BMW economically, but also its status as an iconic car is crucial to the company's image. For many, it's the car that says, "I've made it," or at least, "I'm on my way." The BMW 330i has a three-stage variable induction system, an electric cooling pump and a volume-controlled oil pump that only pumps as much oil as needed, saving engine power. Its new engine weighs 22 pounds less than its predecessor does. It is also more powerful, more fuel-efficient and more compact. In addition to the usual double VANOS magic, this engine features the Valvetronic continuously variable valve lift.

Picking a car for restoration

A car that has extensive rusting is much tougher to restore. Restoring a car that has a lot of body rusting will require a lot more time, effort, and money to bring it back to pristine condition. Another place that can sometimes have issues rusting through is the floorboard. When inspecting a car you should be sure to look under the carpet to inspect the floorboard. The trunk is also another place that can rust through. Avoid buying a car that has rusting all the way through the body. Having a professional auto shop restore your car can be very expensive, costing somewhere in the neighborhood of sixty thousand dollars in labor alone maybe less if the car is in better than average condition. You will also have to pay for parts. Look at examples of jobs that the auto shop has done previously. It is important that you get the best restoration job for your buck. Restoration jobs preformed by an amateur shop may fall apart within a few years of being done. Many people who restore cars will select a car that they had when they were younger, or a car that they wish they had when they were younger to restore. Automotive restoration involves replacing all the aged and worn out parts of a car with original parts that have not become damaged and worn out due to age.

Steering and Suspension System - Auto Parts

When the engine was moved to the front of the car, complex steering systems had to evolve. The modern automobile has come a long way since the days when "being self-propelled" been enough to satisfy the car owner. Improvements in suspension and steering, increased strength and durability of components, and advances in tire design and construction have made large contributions to riding comfort and to safe driving. Ford is one of the top carmakers globally. Throughout the years, Ford has continued to be one of the most popular and successful automobile manufacturers in the industry. With its global operations and top-selling model, Ford is ahead of its competitors. The suspension system has two basic functions, to keep the car's wheels in firm contact with the road and to provide a comfortable ride for the passengers. A lot of the system's work is done by the springs. The springs used on today's cars and trucks are constructed in a variety of types, shapes, sizes, rates, and capacities. Types include leaf springs, coil springs, air springs, and torsion bars. These are used in sets of four for each vehicle, or they may be paired off in various combinations and are attached by several different mounting techniques.

The Zen Of Car Restoration

Every blown seal and gasket I had to search junk yards for. Same for the distributor cap and the windshield wiper motor. Countless calls to the auto parts chain stores; they all know me by name now. Slowly, slowly though, my engine seemed to grow itself into a new and shiny machine. When I turned the final bolt and started her up, my satisfaction was my reward as I heard her roar to life. Then, suddenly, I saw my next several months before me as I glanced over the aged and weathered body. Body work is an art unto itself. It takes the right touch to pop out dents and reset bumpers. We were living hand to mouth; paycheck by paycheck. Have you been there? It's no fun. When the kids were all finally in full day school, my wife decided to take a job to make some extra cash for shopping. She did much better than she expected, and it allowed me to enjoy more free time as it cut out my need to take overtime everyday. With my free time, I decided to work on an old car I had sitting in the garage. Car restoration is something i had grown up watching my dad do in his off time, and so I thought I would slip right into it naturally.
